NMC (Nickel Manganese Cobalt)

NMC (LiNiₓMnᵧCo₂O₂) is a widely used cathode material in lithium-ion batteries. Its production involves two core stages: precursor synthesis and lithiation.

Advantages:

  • Short process: two-step method for preparing oxide precursors
  • Low auxiliary materials: liquid alkali, ammonia, and nitrogen are no longer needed
  • Zero emission: no water treatment solid investment costs, low operating costs mainly based on pyrolysis
~280-300 Wh/kg
  • High Energy Density: NMC811 achieves ~280-300 Wh/kg, outperforming LFP and LCO.
2,000–4,000 cycles
  • Cycle Life: Optimized versions (e.g., single-crystal NMC) reach 2,000–4,000 cycles.

  • Temperature Tolerance: Operates in -20°C to 60°C, superior to NCA.

-20°C to 60°C
